I been on the other side for a while (sol forum) and a lot of them are having differential leaks!!! (ON A NEW CAR!) man... that turns me down (i'm sad) ... I would almost kill someone if my new car comes doing **** like that......
specially when i'm paying $29k (including tax) over a $23k base price...
You guys think this issue will hunt us too?

Leaks like this were a chronic problem with the 98-02 Camaros. It never was really fixed the way you'd like. About half of these cars eventually experience leaking seals, etc., but usually not until 45-50K miles, but if you hot rod them it just exacerbates the problem and its almost sure to leak.

Every car has some weak point, this may be the Kappa's. I imagine, as with the Camaros, GM will "fix" this just good enough to get by, which may mean it is always one of those worrisome items for the scrupulous owner.

Yeah, I know, I'm a cynic - long experience with American and European cars has made me one

It's a situation I think they will address. When they had problems with fit they delayed things for the solstice deliveries. They have probably already addressed the issue on the line with the Sky

You have to recall that Saturn (and SKY still wears the badge) has always been very straightforward and helpful with recall and warranty work. If my SKY has this or another problem, my history of service with them is that they will fix it... No problem any more.
Heck this is a company that when they found my wife worked a mile or so down the road would pick her red SC2 up, give it an oil change - wash it - clean the engine and deliver it to the parking lot in time for her to drive home.
All for the cost of an oil change.

This just goes to show that we are lucky that the Solstice was manufactured before the Sky. That the Sky and Solstice are built in the same plant with the same crews. Problems are bound to come up and HOPEFULLY will be resolved prior to the start of production for the Sky. Although the roof problem seems to be to big a problem for the Engineers to solve.:cuss: :boxing:

That sounds like my dealer, they me take a new car home if I need one. I kept ION Redline coupe thru Xmas last year because my son was here and we need a extra vehicle, I drove it the whole time of course. I guess we are the luckly ones.

I believe the early Sky's will have this problem too. As far as I can see it's the symtoms that are being repaired. I hope I am wrong! As long as we continue see higher VIN Solstice's report leaks, the better are the chances of the problem being shared by Sky owners.

I understand that the Rear and Manual Trans are pulled from the Silverado. Does the Silverado have this issue?

They're pulled from the Canyon/Colorado. My understanding is that this issue has been resolved.
