I believe that RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) was standard on all Skys. Look for AU0 in the RPO code list on the inside of your glovebox door.
Inside door lock switches were not added until later in the production run.

 

This is indeed a trait of the early model 2007 Saturn Skys. You get use to it but all Skys came with power door looks. This is how your Key fob can unlock them.

Thanks everyone for helping me with all my questions. As for this one, I will assume I have power door locks that work exclusively with a key fob. Interesting that I own a 2007 built in April 2006. I scratch my head wondering why GM switched model years so early in the previous year resembling the RV industry.

 

My '07 was built in February 2006, and the earliest that I know of was produced in December 2005.

The '07 Sky is an unusual case in that there are no '06s even though they produced alongside 2006 Solstices. The most reasonable explanation I have seen is that GM changed their powertrain warranty for the 2007 MY and wanted all of the Skys to fall under it. They never "switched" model years to 2007 since there was no 2006 MY.

There must be another RPO that includes or supercedes the AU0 code. I just checked a picture of my '07 and it does not have the AU0 code, but does have RKE.
Except for the radio (I have US9, and you have US8) our cars have the same list of RPO codes, so I suspect that you do have RKE.

It appears that more research is needed.

 

There is a definite inconsistency with the application of RPO codes, especially with the early Skys. As I stated, my '07 (VIN 252) has the same RPO list, and definitely has RKE. Looking through the printbook I see a number of RPO codes for things that I know I have (B32 Floor Mats, AZ5 Roof Insulation, A31 Power Windows, T96 Fog lamps, et al) that are not on the label, so the AU0 is just another one. Of course in the midst of those, and looking just the same, is A50, which is on the label. I also have a couple of RPO codes that I cannot find in the book.

Keep in mind that CompNine is accessing the same database that the RPO code list was printed from, so if it isn't on the label it won't be there either.

 

My car is a 4/13/06 build and has the remote entry. Forget the codes. All Skys came with the FOB. My vin is 1414.

 

Obviously there are discrepancies on early build Skys between the options listed on the glove box label and what was actually installed on the vehicles. I will henceforth quit attempting to answer issues of this type on Sky vehicles of that vintage.

And there are no interior door lock switches....they became available either June 1st or July 1st of 2006. But as noted from my previous post...u can install them yourself .

Are you certain that is an AU8? One of mine has an AU3 to signify Power Door Locks, along with the AU0 for Remote Keyless Entry.
I have never seen AU8 in any of the Kappa-specific RPO code lists, although it is a valid GM RPO code.

 

So it seems you are correct. Just one RPO for the Sky, the other one I listed is for the G2X.

Wrapping up the discussion, I had to replace & program a new (rebuilt) BCM, resulting in fully functioning FOBs which awoke the power door locks. So all is well with that.

I am planning over-winter projects with our early production 2007 Sky, most are remaining not yet essential procrastinations that still need to be completed. I intentionally delayed them so we could start enjoying our Sky during the season of use here near Chicago.

I am considering adding OEM power door lock switches into my interior door panels. I want them to look like "factory original". I did a search on this project but could not find the actual wiring instructions from each switch to the BCM. Is there anything pictorial available for extra clarity on where to tap into the BCM?

Here is the wiring into my BCM. Do I tap into two wires or do I get power through a specific fuse? Is a ground wire involved?

I also wonder if I can reuse my interior door panels by cutting a rectangular hole in them. I suppose I would have to attach each switch with an adhesive because of the lack of a snap-in attachment feature. I would buy interior door panels that include the switches, but are concerned of the cost of the panels with shipping. I will do some internet shopping and see what I can find. carparts.com was mentioned. I will check there and also send an email to Hoosier_GXP. I will also request the wire harness pigtailed coming off those switches, cut as long as possible.

 

Do not start cutting up your door panels and gluing....it does not work well. All u need to do is buy a door panel with a switch...but u will need the harness that attaches to the switch inside the panel. Now you're cooking. Add 2 wires to that harness wire and u run it through the rubber tubing when u open your passenger side door. Run it to your fire wall...there is a hole where your battery is by the fire wall. Run those wires through it down to your BCM....once you do that ...give me an e mail and I will show u where to attach those wires which control that switch. I did it.

 

You do not need a drivers door switch...that really is extraneous since u r the driver. Putting the car in park opens the door for you and u can always reach over and pull the latch up....just the passengers door is needed. If u do buy the door panel...ask if they can include the wiring harness that goes with the door. That will save u a headache...not a big headache but it is always easier to receive the proper harness before an electrical job. All u truly want is the harness that goes to the door switch....from there it is an easy install.

 

I know, I know, we could and are living without door lock switches. I just seek to make our Sky to have such basic features like all my other vehicles have. Both my wife and I get irritated without door lock switches. It would really be nice to have them. All too often one of our doors needs to open with the engine running and so comes the irritation.

 

Except for the obsession to make things look stock, the nicest solution is a single switch in the center of the car.
